Cap Table (Capitalization Table)

A record of who owns equity in a company and how ownership changes after each funding round.

A capitalization table (cap table) lists all shareholders, option holders, and convertible instruments in a company, showing ownership percentages before and after each funding event. Accurate cap tables are essential for term sheet negotiations, investor diligence, and regulatory reporting. Many early-stage Ethiopian startups maintain cap tables informally — a common source of friction during fundraising. SEBL helps founders maintain structured ownership records aligned with investor expectations.
